1.These terms
“We”, “us” and “e-bolt” mean BOLT EV SOLUTIONS LLP (trading as e-bolt), an LLP registered in India at the address above. “You” means the person using the app or charging a vehicle through it.
By creating an account, topping up your wallet, or starting a charging session, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, and money is returned as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Both form part of these terms.
2.Who can use e-bolt
- You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter a contract in India.
- You must be entitled to charge the vehicle you plug in — as its owner, driver, or with the owner's permission.
- Business users may use the service for a fleet, provided the person operating the account is authorised to bind that business.
3.Your account
- Your account is your phone number. You sign in with a one-time code sent by SMS; there is no password to remember or lose.
- Keep control of the phone number and the SIM associated with it. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, unless you tell us it was not and we can verify that.
- Give us accurate details. Invoices are produced from the name, address and GSTIN you enter, and we cannot correct a tax invoice issued against wrong information without reissuing it.
- One account per person. Tell us promptly at support@e-bolt.in if you think someone else has access to yours.
4.What e-bolt provides
The app does four things:
- shows you charging stations and their status,
- starts and monitors a charging session,
- takes payment for that session from a prepaid wallet, and
- issues you a GST invoice for it.
Not every charger you see is ours. The map also lists public charging stations from third-party data sources, including Open Charge Map. We show that information as a convenience. We do not operate those chargers, we cannot guarantee that their location, pricing, connector type or availability is accurate, and any charging you do there is a matter between you and whoever runs them.
Where a charger is operated by e-bolt or by a host on the e-bolt network, the supply of energy is made by us and these terms apply to it in full.
5.Charging sessions
- The tariff is shown before you start. The app displays the applicable rate for the charge point — normally per kWh — before you confirm the session.
- You are billed on metered energy. The amount payable is calculated from the energy the charge point reports as delivered, plus any applicable taxes and any host fees disclosed in the app before you start.
- Checking compatibility is your job. Confirm the connector, the power rating and the charging limits of your vehicle. Vehicles also limit their own charging speed — a slower session than the charger's maximum is normal and is not a fault.
- Follow the rules of the site. Charge points sit on premises owned by other people. Parking rules, access hours and site-safety instructions at that location apply to you, and the site owner — not e-bolt — controls them.
- A session can stop by itself. Charging may end early because of a vehicle limit, a charge-point fault, a grid or network outage, or a safety cut-out. You are charged only for the energy actually delivered.
- Move the vehicle when it is done. Charge points may apply an idle or occupancy fee once charging has finished and a grace period has passed. Where a charge point does, the fee and the grace period are shown in the app before you start.
Reservations and queueing
- Where a charge point supports it, you can reserve a connector for a limited hold window. The length of that window is shown when you book. Arrive within it or the reservation lapses and the connector returns to general use.
- You can also join a queue for a connector that is in use and be alerted when it frees up. A place in a queue is not a reservation and does not guarantee you the connector.
- Cancelling a reservation before its window expires costs nothing — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
6.Wallet, pricing and payment
Charging is paid for from a prepaid wallet inside the app. You top the wallet up, and the cost of each session is deducted from the balance.
- The wallet is a closed-loop advance against charging services we supply. It can be spent only on e-bolt charging. It is not a payment instrument, it cannot be transferred to another user or used anywhere else, and it does not earn interest.
- Top-ups are processed by Razorpay. Card, UPI and netbanking details are entered in the payment gateway's own checkout. We never see or store them — see the Privacy Policy.
- You need enough balance to start. A session may be refused, or stopped, if the wallet cannot cover it. Where the app supports it you can top up mid-session without releasing the connector.
- Balances are computed on our servers. Our records of top-ups, session costs and deductions are the working record of your account. If you believe one is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the charge point's own meter data.
- Prices can change. Tariffs vary by charge point and may be revised. The price that applies to a session is the one shown in the app when you start it.
- Promotional credit, where we grant it, may carry its own conditions and expiry, and is not refundable as cash.
7.Invoices and GST
A tax invoice is raised for each charging session and emailed to you if you have given us an email address. Prices include GST at the applicable rate unless stated otherwise.
To claim input tax credit, enter your business name, address and GSTIN in the app before the session. A tax invoice already issued cannot simply be edited afterwards.
Topping up the wallet is a deposit, not a supply, so no tax invoice is issued for a top-up itself — only for the charging it later pays for.
8.Refunds and cancellations
You can stop a charging session at any time and pay only for the energy delivered up to that point. Unused wallet balance can be refunded to the payment method you topped up with.
The full detail — how to cancel, what is refundable, how long money takes to come back, and what is not refundable — is in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
9.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- tamper with, damage, open or modify a charge point, its cable, its connector or its metering;
- use a charge point for anything other than charging a road-legal electric vehicle, or use damaged or non-compliant charging equipment;
- resell energy taken from an e-bolt charge point, or run a commercial charging service off it, without our written agreement;
- interfere with the app or our systems — reverse engineering, automated scraping, probing, or attempting to alter wallet balances, tariffs or session records;
- use another person's payment instrument or account without authority, or use the service for money laundering or any other unlawful purpose;
- block a charging bay for a vehicle that is not charging, or otherwise obstruct other drivers.
Damage caused by misuse is recoverable from you, and we may pass evidence of tampering or fraud to the site owner or the police.
10.Availability and outages
We work to keep the network running and monitored, but we do not promise that a particular charge point will be free, working, or reachable at a particular time, or that the app will be available without interruption.
Charging depends on things we do not control: the electricity grid, mobile and internet connectivity, the site host's premises and power supply, the charge-point manufacturer's firmware, the payment gateway, and your vehicle. We are not responsible for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including power cuts, network failures, extreme weather, strikes, or acts of government.
Enterprise and white-label customers are covered instead by the service levels in their own signed agreement, which prevails over this section.
11.Liability
- We are responsible for supplying the charging service with reasonable care and skill, and for loss we cause by our own negligence.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost time, a missed appointment, the cost of alternative transport, or loss of range — arising from a charger being unavailable, faulty, slower than expected, or occupied.
- We are not liable for damage to a vehicle caused by a defect in the vehicle itself, by non-compliant or damaged charging equipment you supply, or by your failure to follow the vehicle manufacturer's charging instructions.
- Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our total liability for any claim connected with a charging session is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for that session and your wallet balance at the time.
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing here affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
12.Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account, without notice where the situation calls for it, if we reasonably believe there has been fraud, payment abuse, tampering with a charge point, a safety risk, or a serious breach of these terms. Where we do, we will tell you why, and any legitimate wallet balance remains refundable to you.
You may close your account at any time by emailing privacy@e-bolt.in.
Claim your balance before you close the account
Ask for a refund of any remaining wallet balance before requesting deletion. Once the account is deleted, the record linking you to your original payment goes with it, and we may be unable to identify the payment to refund.
13.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms — for example when we add a feature or a rule changes. The current version is always on this page with the date it took effect, and material changes are notified in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
14.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Before going further, please write to us — most billing and session disputes are settled quickly once we pull the charge point's meter data. If you intend to raise a chargeback with your bank, contact us first: a chargeback raised while we are already refunding you can duplicate or delay the refund.
